In summer 2024, Nazeer Sabree, painter and lead Teaching Artist, embarked on a journey with Career Connected Learning program participants to create a mural inspired by Mayor Cherelle Parker's "One Philly: A United City! Safer, Cleaner, Greener" initiative.

Nazeer and his students engaged in conversations about what life is like as a young person living in Philly and their vision for a safer, cleaner, greener city. These discussions resulted in the creation of SAFER, a mural combining Sabree's “false face” approach to portraiture and student-selected imagery. Located at 1129 N. Lee Street, the mural dedication will be held in summer 2025.
